Your Programme allows you to check for conflicts and potential conflicts for your presenters and session chairs. The Conflict Checker will scan through your sessions and prompt you about the clashes that you can easily fix from the Conflict Checker page. The Checker will also check for double booked venues if needed.
Step 1: Navigate to the Conflict Checker
You can reach Conflict Checker from the Programme Overview page.
Or from the Sessions and Presentations page.
Step 2: Modify the filters (optional)
There are a number of different types of conflict that the Conflict Checker investigates. They are explained below.
Session Chair/Presenter Checks
- Direct Time Conflict - this is when a presenter/session chair has been scheduled to present/chair in multiple sessions at the same time.
- Potential Time Conflict - this is when a presenter/session chair has been scheduled to present/chair multiple submissions in sessions that overlap. This may not be a problem but is worth looking into.
Presenter Only Checks
- Busy Session - this is when a presenter has been scheduled to present multiple times within one session.
- Busy Day - this is when a presenter has been scheduled to present multiple on the same day.
- Busy Conference - this is when a presenter has been scheduled to present multiple times throughout the conference
Venue Checks
- Venue Conflict - this checks to see if there any sessions in the same venue at the same time
- Missing Venue - this checks to see if any session/event is missing a venue
Step 3: Run a conflict check
There are a couple of checks that you can run as shown below. By ticking and unticking the boxes you can decide what you check for conflicts. When you're happy with the settings select Run a Conflict Check at the top right corner of the screen:
Step 5: View and fix conflicts
The results will be shown on the left-hand side. If you wish to change presenters and chairs assignments select Fix as below. This will take you into the relevant session in the Programme Builder that you might wish to fix.
You will be now taken into the session where you can change the assignments. The example below is fixing the potential Time conflict for presenter Grace Ngozi:
