Integrating with Association Management Software (AMS)

This article explains how you can integrate your Ex Ordo platform with an AMS

 

What platforms does Ex Ordo support?

 Ex Ordo currently supports a integration with:

  • Naylor
  • Novi AMS (not enabled by default - please email support@exordo.com to learn more)

When integrated, Ex Ordo checks your AMS provider for information tied to an email address on Ex Ordo and brings it across as tags and profile fields. You can then use those tags to lock special pricing or eligibility to specific groups in the Registrations hub, for example a discounted student fee that only members with a "Student" tag can select.

How do I set it up?

Step 1: Navigate to the Integrations tab

Click the Conference hub at the top of your Ex Ordo platform and click on the Integrations tab.

 

Open the Integrations drop-down and select the AMS with which you will integrate; and enable the the integration.

 

 

Step 2: Enter your provider's credentials

Choose your AMS provider, then enter its credentials.

Step 3: Test the connection

Use the Test Connection option to confirm the integration is working. Please check your credentials if the connection does not work. If you are sure they're correct, please reach out to support@exordo.com.

You can view your sync history on this page as often as you need to, showing the status, time, and trigger of each sync.

Now that your integration is up and running, it's time to set up your registration hub and configure your registration form.

Admins can trigger a full manual sync at any time from the Integrations tab, for either provider.

Have a member who doesn't have an account on Ex Ordo? The sync will not pull across their information.

FAQs

What if a member logs in or registers, but they don't exist in Naylor or Novi AMS?

It is possible to log in and register using an email address that doesn't exist in your AMS provider. However, this may mean the member can't select reduced or member specific fees, since no sync will trigger for that email address.

Why this matters: if a member is registered in your AMS provider under a work email with a student label, but logs into Ex Ordo with a personal email instead, no sync will trigger and they won't be offered the student fee.

Can members use their Naylor or Novi AMS login credentials on Ex Ordo?

Not without a Single Sign On (SSO). By default, Ex Ordo and your AMS provider are separate platforms. Your members will need to create an Ex Ordo account unless you also have an SSO. 

Why are some tags or users not appearing in Ex Ordo?

Tags only sync and become visible in Ex Ordo if at least one Ex Ordo user carries that tag. Similarly, a person only appears in the People hub once they have an Ex Ordo account, for security and privacy reasons, syncing never creates a new person or a placeholder account for someone who only exists in your AMS provider.

How can I edit tags synced from Naylor or Novi AMS?

Synced tags can't be edited in Ex Ordo. They arrive via the integration and can only be changed at the source (in Naylor or Novi AMS itself); the next sync then reflects that change in Ex Ordo.
