Register for the conference

As an admin, you can register for the conference at any time, even after the registrations deadline. This article walks through the steps to register for the event

Step 1: Log into the platform

The first thing you will need to do is log into the platform. Each conference link is unique. Please reach out to the conference organisers you are unsure of link for the event you are for which you are registering.

Step 2: Start your Registration

You can start a new registration by clicking the Register button on the My Registrations dashboard card. You can also do this by navigating to the Registrations hub at the top of the page and clicking the Register Now button on the next page.

Step 3: Select initial registration settings

When starting a new registration, you will first need to indicate if you are registering for yourself or behalf of someone else.  Check out this article to see steps on registering for someone else.

You can also enter in a discount code on this step if you have one. Ex Ordo cannot supply discount codes. Please contact conference organisers directly for questions about discount codes.

Click Continue when ready.

Step 4: Review the Guide for Delegates

Conference organisers often give important information on the Guide for Delegates step. Please read this carefully and click Next: Registration Fees when ready.

Step 5: Select your ticket type

You can select your ticket type on the next step. Each registration can select one ticket type only.

Conferences may have only 1 ticket type, or potentially multiple ticket types. Ex Ordo does not set ticket types or prices. For any questions on ticket types and prices, please reach out to the conference organisers directly.

Click the blue button in the bottom right-hand corner after selecting your ticket type. Depending on the conference set up, the next step may be workshops, social events or billing information.

Some ticket types may be grey and unclickable. This indicates the ticket type is no longer available or sold out.

Step 6: Select add ons and answer any additional questions (if applicable)

Some conferences may offer workshops or social events. These may be complimentary add ons or come at an additional cost. If enabled, you can select one or more add ons and click on the blue buttons in the bottom-right hand corner to move forward.

Conferences may also ask additional questions such as:

  • How would you like your name to appear on your name badge?
  • Do you have any access or dietary requirements?
  • Do you agree to the terms and conditions?

You will see additional questions just before the billing step if they are enabled. Questions may be optional or required. You must answer all required questions before moving forward.

Step 8: Fill in your billing details

Almost there! Please input your billing information. The required fields are:

  • Affiliation
  • Address Line 1
  • City
  • Country

Click on the Next: Checkout button, when ready.

Step 9: Check out

You will see a summary of your registration, including fees, on the last step. You may be able to pay only by card, only by bank transfer, or you may have the option to choose card or bank transfer. You can:

  • Enter a discount code before agreeing to pay if you have one
  • Click on the blue Pay Later by Bank Transfer to agree to pay later (if enabled).
  • Click on the blue Pay by Card button to pay online by card (if enabled). If you choose to pay by card, you will automatically be taken to an external payment platform where you can input your card details and confirm payment.

If you choose to Pay by Card, please complete the payment shortly after navigating to the payment platform to ensure that your registration saves properly.

FAQs:

I agreed to pay by bank transfer and have already paid my conference fees, as requested. Why is my registration still pending?

Registrations will remain pending until a conference organiser marks the payment in the system. Bank transfers can take a few days to reach the organisers. We advise waiting a week or so, and then contacting the conference organisers directly to follow up on the payment.

Ex Ordo Support does not have access to conference bank accounts, so we would be unable to confirm success of payments

I completed my payment by card, but my registration is not in the system. What happened?

This can be caused by a number of things including:

  • having multiple Ex Ordo accounts. For example, if I am registered with kyle@exordo.com but I log into the system with kb@exordo.com, I will not see my registration.
  •  a cancelled registration. You may have requested that the registration be cancelled. If a cancellation is approved, the old registration will no longer be visible in the platform.
  • you waited a significant amount of time to completely payment after clicking on the Pay by Card button. Perhaps you clicked on the pay by card button on Monday at 4 pm, but get busy and walk away from the computer. Then, on Tuesday, you return to the external payment platform that is still open on your computer to complete the payment a day later. Your original registration in Ex Ordo will no longer be in the platform because your request timed out. Not to worry! Email support@exordo.com to let us know this happened and we can correct this for you.

I can't register for the conference or change my existing registration. What's going on?

There are a number of reasons you may not be able to register or edit your registration including:

  • the registration hub is not open yet. Please check back later or reach out to the conference organisers to ask when registrations will open.
  • the registration hub is now closed (the deadline has passed)
  • the conference or specific ticket you are trying to select is sold out
  • the conference is not using the Ex Ordo registration hub
  • technical issues (please contact support@exordo.com if you suspect technical issues)

Ex Ordo Support cannot open registration, increase ticket availability or extend the registration deadline. Please reach out to the conference organisers directly for any of these requests.
