# Understanding Content Structures in your book.

When generating your conference book in Ex Ordo, you’ll choose from a set of content structures that define how accepted submissions will be arranged.

Selecting the right content structure helps ensure your book is easy to navigate, consistent with your programme design, and aligned with your delegates' expectations.

This guide explains each available content structure in detail, including how submissions are grouped and ordered.

### **Available Content Structures**

#### **No Chapters**

**Overview**
The *No Chapters* content structure compiles all accepted submissions into a single continuous list. There are no chapters, title pages, or section dividers. This format is ideal for smaller programmes or publications where a simple, uninterrupted flow is preferred.

You can choose to order your submissions alphabetically or chronologically.

**Example use for this content structure:**

- Compact programmes
- Publications where thematic grouping is unnecessary
- Conferences that want the simplest, cleanest structure

#### **Format Chapters**

**Overview**
The *Format Chapters* content structure groups submissions according to their acceptance format, for example, “Oral Presentations”, “Posters”, etc. Each format becomes its own chapter with a dedicated title page.

You can choose to order your chapters any way you like. You can choose to order the submissions within each chapter alphabetically or chronologically.

**Example use for this content structure:**

- Conferences where format types are used as primary navigation
- Events with multiple presentation styles that need clear separation

#### **Topic Chapters**

**Overview**
The *Topic Chapters* content structure organizes submissions by the topic selected during submission. Each topic forms a chapter, each with its own title page.

You can choose to order your chapters any way you like. You can choose to order the submissions within each chapter alphabetically or chronologically.

**Example use for this content structure:**

- Academically structured conferences
- Readers who browse content by research area
- Programmes that emphasize thematic exploration

#### **Track Chapters**

**Overview**
The *Track Chapters* content structure groups submissions by their assigned track. Each track becomes a chapter with its own title page.

You can choose to order your chapters any way you like. You can choose to order the submissions within each chapter alphabetically or chronologically.

**Example use for this content structure:**

- Conferences with well-defined programme tracks
- Delegates navigating based on disciplinary or strategic focus areas

[**Example Book:** Download a Track Chapters Book](https://help.exordo.com/hubfs/3881_ExOrdo-rkdemo-Version-15.pdf?hsLang=en)

#### **Session Chapters**

**Overview**
The *Session Chapters* content structure organizes submissions according to their scheduled session as they appear on Ex Ordo. Each session becomes a chapter, complete with a title page, followed by the submissions assigned to that session.

Your chapters are ordered chronologically. You can choose to order the submissions within each chapter alphabetically or chronologically.

**Example use for this content structure:**

- Programmes built around session-based scheduling
- Delegates who expect content to mirror the timetable
- Books intended for use during the live event
