This article walks through the Panels decision making process. For steps on assigning decisions to individual submissions and panel contributions, check out our article here.
Panels will always be accepted as Panel and will always be rejected as Declined Panel.
Decisions can be assigned to Panels in the Reviews hub under the List of Panels when the panel is in the Decisions Needed section of the review filter. Panels will appear in this section after all panel contributions have been reviewed and decided on. Check out this article for information on assigning decisions to panel contributions.
Applying a decision to the panel will push it into the Not Published section. Panel organisers will not be able to see the decision until you publish the panel.
You can apply a decision to a panel in 2 ways. The first is to use the decisions drop-down menu which appears right underneath the panel contribution acceptance summary.
You can also click on a panel title to expand it, then scroll down. You'll be able to assign a decision in the drop-down menu here.
As soon as you apply panel decisions, a card entitled Panels Notification of Decisions will appear on your dashboard. You will need to filter this card to view specific tracks if you have multiple tracks on your site.
You will see two groups of submissions on this card: Accepted and Rejected. Underneath the 2 groups, you will see either an orange button or white button. The orange button can be used to send out your notifications to your panel organisers. If you see a white button, you have sent out your notification already or there is no email to send.
Clicking on the orange button will bring you into the Communication hub. You can modify the Organiser Role filter if needed, then hit Next.
You can review and edit your notification email. Be sure to give it a name that shows the importance of this message!
You can then view your email on the next step, and even send yourself a test email. Go Back to edit the message or click Next to send.
And finally, click the Send Message button and grab yourself a lovely cup of tea for a job well done!
