You may have something to present like a presentation file or a PDF when presenting. This article will explain how you can do this in Webex Webinars.
Warning!
It is important to carefully check your screen before sharing to avoid accidentally sharing personal content like your email, WhatsApp message or websites. Consider turning off notifications and removing any personal or private information before you start presenting.
Before you can share your screen, the Stage Manager will probably have to pass you the Presenter role in the Webex Event. This depends on the settings, but generally speaking once you’re the Presenter you can share your screen.
Sharing your Screen in Webex Webinars
You must download the Webex App to attend virtual conferences.
Step 1: Click on the Share Button at the bottom of your screen
Step 2: Optimize for Motion and Video (if applicable)
If you are sharing video or audio, be sure to change the setting in the upper left-hand corner to Optimize for motion and video. Otherwise, leave this setting as automatically optimize.
Step 3: Select a screen or specific app to share
Select the screen, app or specific window you want to share in the pop up window.
Step 4: Present your work and use the toolbar at the top of your screen
When sharing, your toolbar will no longer appear at the bottom of the screen. To view more options or stop sharing your screen, click on the arrows in the sharing dock at the top of your screen.
There are more options in the dock at the top of the page. The options depend on your role within the meeting. Hosts can do more than panelists, for example.
Step 5: Stop sharing your screen
You can stop sharing your screen by clicking on Stop in the dock at the top of the page.
Important Note: Sharing in Webex with macOS Catalina and Newer OS Software Versions
It is very important for all Mac users who are presenters to check their security settings before the conference. Conference organisers may be able to offer rehearsals in advance of the conference so Mac users can grant permissions to Webex.
Mac users will need to update their Privacy and Security settings before sharing their screen. We highly advise all Mac users do this in advance of their session. If presenters don't grant the needed permissions before their session, they will have to exit and rejoin Webex before they can share their screen.
The process for granting permission to Webex may be slightly different depending on the type of device and operating system used. Below is an example of where the setting may be located. The system will prompt presenters to change the setting when they attempt to share their screen for the first time.
