Using the Ex Ordo text editor

Ex Ordo has 2 separate text box editors. One is available to admins and includes extra functionality like hyperlinks. The other is available to non-admins such as authors and delegates.

Text editor for admins:

The admin text editor is visible when creating instructions (e.g., Guide for authors) and emails.  The edit includes the ability to:

  • Bold text
  • Italicise text
  • Underline text
  • Create a bulleted list
  • Create a numbered list
  • Insert Superscripts
  • Insert Subscripts
  • Add a hyperlink
  • Add scientific characters (see below for more information)
  • Create headings

The Ex Ordo text editor includes many scientific characters that are available in the admin view.

Text editor for non-admin users:

Non-admins, such as authors or delegates, may be asked to input text into a field that has a text editor. Not all fields will have a text editor. For example, short answer fields are designed for simple information such as a phone number. Short answer fields do not include a text editor.

The non-admin text editor includes the ability to:

  • Bold text
  • Italicise text
  • Underline text
  • Create a bulleted list
  • Create a numbered list
  • Insert Superscripts
  • Insert Subscripts
  • Add scientific characters (see below for more information)
  • Insert hyperlinks (not within in the abstract step, but hyperlinks can be inserted within additional information questions in some cases)
