Admin: Removing submission from a Panel

Chairs, assistants, track chairs and panel organisers can remove contributions from panels. There are two ways admins can do this. Please see this article for the process panel organisers would follow to remove a contribution from their panel

  • Removing panel contributions from the Panels list
  • Removing panel contributions from the Submissions list

Removing panel contributions from the Panels list

From the Panels list search by the panel ID, Panel Title or Organiser.

When you find the Panel that holds submissions you would like to remove, click on the Panel title to expand the view.

In the expanded view, you will see all Panel Contributions that belong to this panel. Click on the title that needs to be removed.

A screen with all contribution details will open. In the bottom left-hand corner, admins will see the option to remove a contribution from a panel. Click on Remove from Panel if you would like to continue.

Contributions will become pending after you remove them from a panel. Authors can complete the submission as an individual contribution so it can be reviewed, choose to withdraw or simply leave it incomplete.

Removing panel contributions from the Submissions list

From the List of Initial Submissions, you can search by Submission ID, author name, submission title or panel title to find the panel contribution you would like to remove from a panel. When you find what you need to remove, click on the submission title to expand the view.

Next, click on Remove from Panel in the bottom right-hand corner.

You will then see a warning screen as below. Once you remove a contribution from the panel, that submission will receive a Pending status. This is because a Submission removed from a panel loses the Panel topics.

FAQs:

Can I remove contributions from my panel during or after the review?

No, submissions must be removed from the panel before the review stage. Please contact the conference organisers if you would like to remove contributions from your panel after the review has begun.

What happens to a submissions that I remove?

Submissions that are removed become pending, meaning they are not eligible for review. Authors can log into the system and complete their submission before the submission deadline. If completed, their work can be considered during the review stage.

Are authors notified that their contribution has been removed from a panel?

Authors are not automatically notified that their submissions has been removed. You can reach out to the conference organisers to let them know you have removed a contribution. They may contact the author to make them aware

How do I add a contribution back into a panel?

There is no action button in the Ex Ordo system that adds a submission back to the panel automatically. The contribution will have to be resubmitted to the panel from the first step.
