Beta Feature: Conditional Custom Fields

Conditional custom fields is currently a beta feature and is not available on all sites. Please contact support@exordo.com with any questions.

Conditional custom fields allows you to create questions in the initial and final submissions hub that are visible to specific submission formats only. For example, you may allow authors to indicate their presentation format preference (e.g., oral, poster, lightning talk).  You may then require special information from authors who chose the lightning talk format only. Conditional custom fields are just the thing for you!

Initial Submissions

On Step 6 when setting up submissions, you can select the type of question to ask about each submission.

  • Answer: A short answer
  • Explain: A paragraph answer
  • Choose: A dropdown of options
  • Agree: A checkbox to agree with a statement
  • File Upload: An upload of a file

You can now design your question by adding key information, setting the question to be required (or not!), making the answer visible to reviewers (or not!) and setting the submission format. You are able to make questions visible to:

  • Only one submission format
  • Multiple submission formats (but not all)
  • All submission formats

I have set the submission format on the question below to 'Oral' submissions only. This means my other submission types will not see this question.

Final Submissions

There are two actions related to conditional custom fields in the final submissions hub, including:

  • Disabling questions asked in the initial submissions hub that you no longer need or do not want authors to change
  • Adding new conditional custom fields

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Conditional custom fields are based on submission format and not decision type.

Example:

Submission 10 indicated they wish to do an oral presentation in the initial submissions hub.

You accepted submission 10 as a poster.

Their submission format is oral. They will see conditional custom fields for oral authors.
